The DISENEX project launched the training to potential entrepreneurs with disabilities based on selected external learning courses. The main goal of the project is to increase motivation and provide appropriate tools for the foundation and management of a company. The consortium analyzed already existing online educational and training courses in accordance with the criteria established in the project context, the defined competences to be developed, the objectives aimed at and the designed DISENEX methodology.
The courses developed are aimed at developing both hard and soft skills, which are divided into macro-categories. Hard skills are related to planning, management, resource mobilization and support. The courses aim to equip the learners with the necessary tools to manage and grow their business effectively. The soft skills, on the other hand, are related to creativity, dealing with others, learning through experience, self-awareness, self-efficacy, risk management, coping strategies for dealing with uncertainty, motivation, perseverance and initiative. These skills are equally important for running a successful business.
The consortium of the project has analyzed several courses to address these competencies. These courses include sustainability, digital media, Microsoft Excel, virtual reality, community impact assessment and many others. Each course provides an overview of competences, modules and their duration, prerequisites, target groups and certificates.
The project is a step in the right direction towards inclusivity and empowering people with disabilities to achieve their goals. It is essential to continue supporting and promoting such initiatives to enable everyone to realize their full potential. A key factor was also the identification of best practices and entrepreneurs’ stories in each country of the consortium.
